Harmless photo app fun courtesy of Labelbox and Frametastic for the iPhone 4. A revelation (!) and a welcome distraction in the midst of gruelling thesis writing.
According to Ponystep’s latest issue, the brightest & boldest British stars are none other than heiress and high-fashion darling Daphne Guinness and the inimitable Joan Collins, as well as models extraordinaire Jourdan Dunn and Georgia May Jagger. Completely random, yet not too far off the mark, each lady represents something eccentric and altogether legendary; be it the modelling industry (x2), the life of a ‘thespian’ or the alternate reality that is high-fashion. Wouldn’t it be interesting to see who would represent Ireland in a similar Ponystep mock-up in a who’s-who of our fashion industry? Possibly a blog post for another day…
True to form, the arts, culture and fashion premium bi-annual that is Ponystep has gone all Andy Warhol with its colour-pop cover shots, lensed by Miles Aldridge, in the infamous artist’s preferred colours. Simple, yet altogether brilliant.
What I would rather have been doing/wearing/seeing…Where I would’ve most rather been today…
After suffering a serious dose of Writer’s Block today whilst trying to produce another Irish feature on fashion blogging, this time on Fashion Blogging as a Business (gah), I gave up early this evening. 5pm to be exact. Rarely suffering from the big W-B there’s nothing more frustrating when you know, in this case when I know, that I could have written it all in one day had the words come to me. Alas, no. Wish me luck for tomorrow?

Some more of MSGM’s futuristic designs for Pre-Fall ’13. So eclectically brilliant, this is how I wish I could dress every single day. The perfect combination of ecentricity-meets-stylised-glamour, it’s so refreshing to see such a strong colour palette in something else apart from a Spring collection. There are hints of trends for the coming season in the tailored trousers and floral blouses but for the most part, MSGM has gone their own way with this collection. I love.
I regularly post editorials, while expressing my adoration of the whole spread. Lately however, I’ve been paying closer attention to the minute details, that is to say the finer aspects of the styling. In this case, styled by Daria Anichkina, this editorial for Russian Elle appeals to me as each image has one defining element that draws me into it.
Behold model Skye Stracke posing alongside a gorgeous Mustang and all I focus on are the cat’s eye sunglasses. Lime green lace draws me to the third shot, a headband to another. Unsurprisingly, my favourite image is Glamorous-Mod with a beehive, a feline flick of eyeliner and beautiful statement jewellery (ok there’re three defining elements here, but you get my drift).
