“Elegance must be the right combination of distinction, naturalness, care and simplicity”, according to Dior, who debuted their S/S12 Couture collection in Paris today. Embroidered on a coral full-skirt, complete with petticoats, this motto was the inspiration for the collection that was centred around sheer tulle and feminine shapes.
On the other end of the scale, Versace debuted their first Couture collection in eight years to mixed reviews. Personally, it’s what I expected it to be. It’s typical Versace, but then for such an established label, aren’t there allowances for such Space Cadet designs? One thing though, chaps are never couture, even if they are adorned with lace.
While Christian Dior was beautifully girly, Versace stayed true to form in futuristic creations.
Resplendent in both Christian Dior and Versace, Karlie Kloss is once again proving herself to be the model of the moment.
