Chanel Spring 2012, modelled by Joan Smalls and Saskia de Brauw.
I love these shots for how hauntingly beautiful they are. I found myself captivated by the picture as a whole rather than by Karl Lagerfeld’s creations. The fact that this campaign was photographed by Lagerfeld himself in the run-up to 2012’s Olympic Games ensures that this campaign is more than relevant for the year that’s in it.
This collection is a step away from those of season’s past, which have been gaudy and irrelevant. In my humble opinion. With this campaign though, Chanel have once again reinforced their status as a classic yet innovative design house.
